UPDATES!!!

Tuesday,
March 25th, 2008

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter this weekend! Angelle was unable to see any of her family this weekend, however, she still made the best of it. She and her fiance’ Ray spent the day together getting to do things they haven’t done yet since they’ve moved to San Antonio.

Angelle & her fiance’ have a busy week ahead of them. They will head to Wichita Falls this afternoon to complete the move and get the rest of their things out of storage since they will be living in the same house for the next 3 years. They are thankful to have a nice home in a close Suburb along the Northeast side of San Antonio.

After returning from Wichita Falls tomorrow night, it’s back to work for another couple of weeks and then from April 22nd through April 30th, it’s vacation time! They will both be seeing Hawaii for the first time, and for a week! :) Angelle will also be seeing her sister & her 3 nieces while she is there, getting to spend a lot of time with them since they currently reside there.

In between now and then, Angelle is planning to get herself back into clubs, performing wherever and whenever she can. This week, she just got an invitation to sing with a band again, with the same guitarist and bassist as she did the first time she went to a band audition. If she returns back from Wichita Falls in time, she will be able to sing with them. We’ll keep you updated.

Updates have been slow because of the gap in performances and auditions. Angelle hopes to keep the gaps out and get some exciting stuff back on the schedule. After her audition for America’s Got Talent, she realizes that she misses being on a stage - and that a STAGE is her place of prize, where she can release the best of herself to the crowd.

Look for performance dates & karaoke nights coming on the "Upcoming Shows" list in the next 2-3 weeks. Since it’s almost April, those dates should be popping up even sooner than that!

Stay tuned! :)

AUDITION & PERSONAL UPDATES...

Wednesday,
March 5th, 2008

Angelle stops in yet again to update us on everything that's going on! Below, she talks thoroughly about the audition and about some struggles she's been overcoming. Read below...

"Of course, I'm late on the update. Sorry. My life consists of nothing but work, apparently. lol Anyway, here's the scoop on my audition this weekend...

For the first time in a long time, I went to see my father and his family. I stayed the night with them since my father only lived an hour away from where the audition was taking place. Sunday afternoon is when the audition started for me - My audition time was between 3pm and 6pm. I got there at 2pm, and got to audition by 3:45pm. It was a very organized audition. Definitely NOTHING like American Idol's full 8-12 hour waiting periods. Yeah, no kidding.

I guess I should tell you what the audition was for before I tell you the rest. This was my first time auditioning for America's Got Talent. :) It was the most organized and fun auditon I've ever been to...

Before I was called for my audition, we were all in one big room at the Fairmont Hotel in downtown Dallas (Akard Street). There were only about 200-300 people. Seriously. There actually weren't lke THOUSANDS, and I think it's because they separated us, by different audition times and such. Very organized. So as I waited, I stood amongst the crowd in front of the camera that was set up inside the room on one side, and I watched as people did their acts for the camera before actually auditioning. It was a lot of fun! I know I will see some of those acts on TV for sure! There was a lot of great ones.

So at 3:45, I stood in our audition room for about 10 minutes along with 5 other contestants. There were two 15 year old female singers (one sang "At Last", the other sang an awesome "Open Arms"), a 36 year old female singer (who sang Kelly Clarkson's "Beautiful Disaster"), an 18 year old male singer (who sang John Legend), and a 53 year old Gospel singer (who sang "What A Friend We Have In Jesus") all auditioning with me. I was 4th down the line... when my turn came up, I gave it my all, and of course, I tried the best I could, singing "Superwoman" by Alicia Keys, starting off at the 2nd half of the 2nd verse, starting high. It was fun because I brought out ME, my personality. I don't think it was a good choice of song just because it might've been too current, but it shouldn't matter as long as I'm belting it out. lol

The results of the audition for me seemed pretty good, but I wasn't as amazing as 2 other singers in that room. However, NOW it's just a waiting game, to see if I get a callback or not. Not thinking negatively, I have hope, but I really don't think I will get a callback - Just because I know there are so many other great singers in that competition. SO, I am struggling with a few things. Wondering how I set myself apart from everyone else... which brings me to tell you more about what happened at the audition. Nothing bad, just internal stuff, within me.

Well, I did what I could, but a part of me that I realized always "freezes up" inside and keeps me from really SHOWING what I got. Now, I still did my audition very well, but... I know I could have been better. I was only nervous on the way over to the audition room besides when I almost started singing. I hadn't become nervous up until that very moment. So, now I know, I probably will never be able to ace an audition because when I stand in front of judges, something happens.

It's hard to explain. I can still sing and bring a good audition, but the same person that comes out in front of a crowd ISN'T the same person that's there standing in front of those judges.

Ray tells me that it's because he thinks I'm destined to be noticed while I am singing in a club, in the most comfortable setting that I can be in, which is on a stage in front of a crowd. I guess that's a good thing right? I would rather be able to sing for crowds than for judges because that's what I would be doing professionally once I made it.

So... there's something you all don't know about me, besides what I just said. After every audition, I get disappointed and pissed at myself, struggling with myself not to cry it out. But, I always have to cry out the loss of an audition (privately of course) so that I don't worry about it. The day of the audition, I don't talk to anyone about it until I'm okay, because I would say stupid stuff to myself like... well, it's time to give up and try something else.

It's funny because every time I try to give up, it breaks me, and that's why I have to cry it out. Once I do that, I realize that I can't give it up for some strange apparent reason and I try not to second-guess myself at that point. I've been struggling with trying to analyze what I am missing at those auditions or even just missing period.

Do I have charisma? Do I have the X factor? Do I have the strong voice? Is what I hear coming out of my mouth really sounding good?

That's what I deal with. It's second-guessing myself... but even still, I hope I have all of those things. I know I have personality, because I am ALWAYS me. I never try to be anyone else, and you know, I actually don't even know how to be someone else. It's just I am me. All of the time. So is that good enough?

The more I think about it, the more I realize that Ray could be right. So I need to get with it and start performing out at places. I'm ashamed to say that since I've been in San Antonio, I've only performed ONCE. No kidding. What a loser, right? I can't give you excuses. The truth is, I don't want to be a "karaoke singer" and I went through a little stage where I just hated doing karaoke - I wanted more.

Now I am over that... because I'm not going to look at it as that... since I actually DO PERFORM in karaoke clubs, I am nowhere NEAR a Karaoke singer, and I set myself apart from those who are because I'm good! I'm getting more and more away from the high notes (the falcetto notes in which Mariah Carey can hit) just to try to be ME and not feel like I am copying anyone.

Here's something else. I just bought myself a HUGE full-size piano keyboard to try and help myself do my own music. I can play the piano by ear, with no problem. It's just that I actually NEVER learned how to play with both of my hands. I'm going to try to teach myself until I can get myself into lessons. We found a place that only charges $90 a month for lessons. Not bad right?! You can go once or twice a week if you want. It's nice. I think with our schedules, we would only go once a week.

I say "we" because Ray is actually learning how to play the Electric Guitar now! :) It's great. He's actually taking his FIRST lesson today at the Music place, in New Braunfels, called New Braunfels Music. It's a nice place. He bought his nice Electric Guitar there. I told Ray we're going to end up being lik Sonny & Cher, but better... and for longer! lol Of course, we both laughed. It might happen though. It would make us unique... Ray's also good at the drums.

Well this is long enough, so I will end it with this... Some people think I am so strong and that I never have struggles - but what I want you to know is YES, you're right about me being STRONG, HOWEVER, I do have my weak moments too - I just try to get rid of them before they affect me so much. I had a friend email me yesterday telling me she was struggling, asking me how I do it, how I keep my head up and keep going. So this part is dedicated to her and to anyone who feels the same way.

The only way to keep on top of the game is to push yourself. If making yourself think of giving up the ONE thing you love the most is what PUSHES you, then do it! It works for me - I can't give up. When I think about it, I fall down to my knees and then I am okay. If you think you'll never make it to the top, you're wrong. I know I may never be FAMOUS, and that's what I REALLY want, but not for the money or fortune, honestly. That's a nice part about it, but I want it for the CAREER, the CROWDS, the HOBBY. It's my heart. If I don't become something big, I have to find a way to keep myself going - even if it's getting a band and touring locally. You can't keep thinking of what you could have. You have to just focus on GETTING THERE. I struggle with that all of the time, but somehow I find myself STILL doing it, still going after it as much as my body will let me.

Take this with you -
Your struggles do not amount to what your dream could provide.
(This will be my new quote, lol)

Run along the side of your dream and catch it.
Do the things that make you keep going.

Much love, *Angelle*"

NEW UPDATES & NEW AUDIO!

Monday,
February 18th, 2008

'Bout time huh? Well we're here with a personal update from Angelle herself, so we'll just let you get right to it! :)

Angelle writes: "Well this is new. I'm  here when I said I was going to be. lol Hey, I try. I'll just get RIGHT to it though. No BS, I promise. lol

So... I'll start with the audition from last Friday (February 8th).Well after emailing one cool band, being networked to another cool band, and then to a 3rd cool band, I landed an audition for Lead Singer. The audition went well, although, I could not bring out the power I needed at first, but then I let loose - singing rock/pop songs and getting into it with a REAL live band. This was my VERY first band rehearsal ever. The one song that I did the best on was "Chain of Fools" by Aretha - of course, we made it our own. It was songs like that where I could find ME. It was SO MUCH fun.

There was one more song that sticks with me. The lead guitarist, "Buzz", (who kicks some major butt), told me to bring up the lyrics (I had my laptop with me) to "Amazing Grace" and to sing those very lyrics to the melody of "House of the Rising Sun." Yeah no kidding! I was a little weak on it, but I still loved doing it. We did it twice, and there were parts from 1 & 2 that were better than each other, but I will be posting the 2nd take. I also performed songs like Sheryl Crow's "My Favorite Mistake", Gwen's "Underneath It All", Alanis Morissette's "You Oughta Know", Amy Winehouse's "You Know I'm No Good" (only song I like of hers once I was introduced to it), and a few more for fun. It was a great night. They even heard me sing some Kelly (Clarkson) which was a lot of fun too. :)

I'll post some audio on the Official Music MySpace of mine, and here's the link. http://www.myspace.com/angellesanford. If you've not added me yet, please do so!

That basically takes care of my MUSIC news. For the rest, I've been really into scrapbooking for a few months, and I've been working on getting a few pages together. My two recent pages consist of a "A Tribute to my Favorite Fwends" and "Los Angeles 2005", as I'm looking back on some great memories. I'll be posting some photos of ALL of my pages on my scrapbook.

Speaking of photos, I got a lot to upload from the parks and places I've been to around here. There's some BEAUTIFUL places with completely CLEAR water. Natural springs, wildlife (you can see deer everywhere in these parts of Texas), Bobcats, Nutrias (beaver-like animals), and many other different types of nature and wildlife places.

I'm posting those tonight. I'm also going to try to get one or two audio files up too! So.... I better get after it!

Sorry for the long awaited news.... I'm going to post those new pix now.

Good night! Much love, *Angelle*"

The audio is currently being featured on Angelle's OFFICIAL MUSIC MYSPACE which you could get to from the MUSIC link above, OR you can follow the link she gave you above. Thanks for checking out the brand new audio, and more will be coming to her OFFICIAL MUSIC MYSPACE very soon!

UPDATES & TOUR DATES!

Monday,
December 31st, 2007

WELL here we are with some FANTASTIC updates and some quick ones to recap the end of Angelle's 2007!

The TOP 3 recaps are:

1) Angelle moved to San Antonio and LOVES IT!
2) Angelle turned 26!
3) Angelle got engaged!

On the day of her 26th birthday, Angelle got engaged to her boyfriend of almost 7 years, Raymundo (she calls him Ray). The two of them do NOT have a date set yet, and probably will make the engagement last about a year or so before setting a date. So, hang around for that! :)

Last night (December 30th), after seeing a side of Ray's family that Angelle has never met, they decided to check out a cute little place in San Antonio for some karaoke. So now it may just have to be an on-going spot in 2008!

We're updating Angelle's Tour Dates section with the details TODAY on where to find her if you're living in the SA area! For right now, to bring Angelle's voice into town a little bit until she gets better job hours, she'll do a little karaoke here and there. It'll be fun so come out and join her!

Until next time... err... next year! ;) *Team Angelle*

DECEMBER UPDATES

Tuesday,
December 18th, 2007

This month, Angelle has made several attempts to getting you a Christmas/Seasonal track recorded, but unfortunately has not been able to succeed. With the Holidays soon to pass, time will be the only thing that Angelle could gain. She is looking for a new job opportunity to open up some more time in her everyday life to become more involved in events, outings, competitions, and much more.

Angelle doesn't make resolutions, but she does have goals. Putting a time limit on them is impossible, but she hopes to have a band and something REALLY going for her this coming year. Since 2007 was not made for her, maybe this coming year will be. She still stands high, with her feet planted, and now that she's moved, she's also taken many steps into her right direction. So, stay tuned as we update you on the latest... always.

UPDATES!

Saturday,
November 17th, 2007

The month of November feels like it never even started for Angelle, and it might be because she's been so busy with planning, settling in, working, and trying to put in a little time for her other hobbies. Right now, she is gearing up for another holiday season, and is currently making plans to become more a part of the city, wanting to perform in various places. She's found everything from karaoke to even restaurant GIGS, with the help of her friend's mother. Angelle is really looking forward to getting her feet planted in the south Texan city of San Antonio!

Her trip back to Wichita Falls recently was different, and only because she realized that she missed NOTHING about that town but her friends and family. When she drove through her old hometown, she felt lost and empty, trying to figure out how she dealt with the location so well. So needless to say, Angelle believes the grass was definitely greener moving SOUTH. :)

Things are getting so much easier now that she's getting settled in, knowing her way around, and finding new places to have a new life. Her new hometown brightens up her life in so many ways, from her living arrangements to the location, to the traffic (which isn't bad at all!), to the weather... everything. She knew she would be making a good move, but she had no idea it was going to be THIS good. More updates coming very soon!

TAKING A TRIP BACK

Saturday,
November 3rd, 2007

Before the Sun comes up tomorrow morning, Angelle will be on the road back to her hometown of Wichita Falls. Don't worry though because she is only going there for 2 days. She's driving a long 6 hours tomorrow morning to get some more things of hers and to see Ray, her Mother, and to have lunch with 3 of her great friends while she is there. Stay tuned for more updates!

HALLOWEEN

Wednesday,
October 31st, 2007

Angelle is not a huge fan of Halloween, but does like the candy, the dressing up, and just having fun. I mean, who doesn't? Since Angelle volunteered to work overtime most of the day (this was her day off), she may not have a chance to attend the Halloween party she was invited to. However, if she does, we will have pictures to show ya!

On another note, the site FULLY launches TOMORROW, November 1st! Stay tuned for the ALL NEW (and simple) AngelleSanford.com!

WEEK UPDATE

Friday,
October 26th, 2007

After a long week of getting settled into a new home because of an apartment flooding, Angelle is feeling refreshed and is glad to be back at work today. Her last 2 days off (Wed & Thurs) were spent with Ray since he drove down from Wichita Falls. Within those 2 short days, Ray and Angelle did get to see the Riverwalk again (but for the first time alone), and made a special day trip out to the Natural Bridge Wildlife Refuge & Caverns the following day.  At the refuge, they went on a Safari cruise and had a blast! Photos from these trips are now being shown on Angelle's MySpace, but will soon be available on here, since you have to be logged in or be a free member of MySpace to view those photos. Stay tuned!

NOVEMBER LAUNCH

Friday,
October 26th, 2007

Due to the crazy week we've had (along with Angelle), we will be launching the website's FULL VERSION on November 1st. We will not be changing the date to anything further, and we are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. THANK YOU for your understanding and your patience! NEW HOMETOWN

Sunday,
October 14th, 2007

On Saturday morning, Angelle left her hometown of 23½ years in Wichita Falls to set herself out for the more career-oriented city of San Antonio, Texas. She drove 6 hours to get to her destination and has already began to explore around finding the important places.

Today, Angelle got herself acquainted at her new job location (she got a transfer with her last job) and things are exciting for her now that she has seen the environment she will be in. So her new journey was initiated on Saturday and begins tomorrow!

CAREER UPDATE

Sunday,
October 14th, 2007

This week as Angelle gets situated at her new job and location, she is also planning to kick-start her performing skills and take them into the city of San Antonio. Angelle will be scouting out places to perform LIVE or in Karaoke styles to get herself started on being heard and getting OUT THERE. So please stay tuned to the website for PERFORMANCE UPDATES (which will be under a new link called "Tour" on the Menu when the website is fully launched).
